About the event
Coaching skills are not inherent; they are learned. The CiHC series focuses on practice, integration, and applying transferable coaching skills.
Dedicating time to the art of coaching will significantly impact your practice as a leader, mentor and clinician (even your role as a parent, spouse & friend).
When coached on their thinking about a change, people adopt change at a rate almost ten times more than someone just being told about it (Joyce & Showers, 1980). Learn the communication skills that support change and growth in others!
Workshop details:
Starting date: October 3rd (9 weeks)
Where: Meet on Zoom
Day: Tuesday
Time: 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm, Mountain Standard Time.
(3:30 pm Pacific, 5:30 pm Central, 6:30 pm Eastern, 7:30 pm Atlantic)
Last session: Nov. 28th, 2023.
The program is 19 hours in total. An additional 3 hours of training are available for free if you add on attendance at our skills refresher and practice, bringing the total hours to 22 hours of training.
Mainpro+/MOC Section 3 accredited
This event is an Accredited Section 3: Self-Assessment Activity as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and approved by The University of Calgary – Office of Continuing Medical Education and Professional Development. You may claim a maximum of 19 hours (credits are automatically calculated). An additional 3 hours of training are available for free if you add on attendance at our skills refresher and practice, bringing the total hours to 22 hours of training (MOC and Mainpro remain at 19 hours).
This 2 credit per hour Group Learning activity has been certified by the National Office of the College of Family Physicians of Canada for up to 38 Mainpro+ credits. Mainpro+ participants may also earn additional certified credits by completing a Linking Learning exercise.
