About the event

19 to Zero was founded during the pandemic and worked across a number of organizations. From that viewpoint, Theresa has been able to observe how different phases of the pandemic require different types of leadership approaches, especially for those who aim to shift systems. The campfire chat will provide space for Theresa to unpack what she is noticing and surface her thinking – and share with you all! After she shares her observations and thoughts, we will hear from the collective, and create a rich exploratory dialogue that shifts thinking!

Who is Theresa?

Theresa Tang is the co-founder and operational lead for 19 To Zero, a health behaviour change not for profit based. She also recently co-founded a multidisciplinary rapid access program called Vela Health, focused on supporting Canadian employees off due to mental health.  Theresa has a range of experiences designing, building and launching teams.

Her previous roles helped her establish Alberta’s first Primary Care Integration Network at Alberta Health Services and Alberta Medical Association’s first population health portfolio.  She was also part of the founding team that built the Institute for Better Health at Trillium Health Partners in Mississauga and was part of the initial research team that launched the McMaster Health Forum in Hamilton, Ontario.  Theresa has worked at the University Health Network in Toronto, the World Health Organization in Switzerland, and supported evidence-informed policymaking in Australia.

She is a passionate health leader who believes in building emerging leaders to pursue an understanding of unmet needs in their communities, consider the future, and engage in activities to foster innovative and sustainable solutions to social and health challenges. She was the Curator for Global Shapers Calgary an initiative of the World Economic Forum and Co-Chair and Executive Member for Emerging Health Leaders in Canada.

You are invited to listen, get curious, and expand your thinking. You share if you feel like it; your presence is a gift.
